The Catholic Church has played a vital role in the field of Education, Health care and Social Service. Keeping in tune with the universal policy of the Church, the Archdiocese of Trichur has illustrious track record of a century and a quarter in the education sector. Education was the prime concern of the Diocese ever since its inception. The legendary march in education started with St.Thomas High School in 1889. Since then, the education ministry had a phenomenal race forward and today it has a number of establishments under its umbrella including Jubilee Mission Medical College & Research Institute and St. Thomas College.
St. Josephs model higher secondary school is an unaided but recognized English medium higher secondary school for boys and girls following the kerala state syllabus. The school was started in 1961and Sri . V. V. Giri, the former Indian president, inaugurated this institution. This is an English medium residential school and was established chiefly for the benefits of the catholic minority community as per the provision of the article 30 (1) of the Indian constitution. Acharya J. C. Chiramal (Chakkoru master) is the founder of the school. later It was managed by his son Fr. Antony jees. After their death the school was entrusted to the archdiocese of trichur. Kindergarten and lower primary sections began to be functioned here in 1993 and 1995 respectively.

As a principal, my journey with St Joseph’s School is really enriching, exciting and personal fulfilling. Truly, it has been a great experience for me to work as a principal and as a teaching staff here. I really appreciate the concern and the love of our predecessors in every sphere of my life
The main thrust of our Institution is to sanctify the children and to sanctify the world with proper guidance and education.
Our staff is totally committed to the goals of our school and provide the way to success. Here, our point of concern will be good discipline and good character development.
